About Sun Joe SWJ599E
Overall Feedback:
94% positive
93% liked the safety features, though 7% found them inadequate
I appreciate the safety feature of the chainsaw, particularly the mechanism that stops the chain immediately when the trigger is released, preventing any accidents while setting the saw down.
I have learned that chainsaws can be dangerous and have stopped doing risky tasks on ladders. Instead, I now use a pole saw.
94% found it easy to maneuver
The chainsaw feels high-quality and sturdy due to its weight.
This chainsaw is easy and safe to use while working at the top of a manlift or ladder in the trees, even with the attached cord.
The chainsaw is easy to maneuver and light to use. It can cut slants in tight spots.
92% were satisfied with the chain type and sharpness, but 8% weren't
I can easily handle bush bases of 2-3 inches and small trees with 4-6 inch bases with my chainsaw.
I replaced the original chain with a better cutting Oregon chain as the original chain was not sharp enough to cut properly.
The chainsaw blade dulls faster on hardwoods and dies instantly if it hits the ground, but it can be sharpened easily with a file or diamond bit in a rotary tool.
90% appreciated the bar length, while 10% didn't
I found the chainsaw difficult to use with one hand because it was heavier than the Remington models and the balance was a little off, causing it to dip forward rather than staying level. This made it necessary for me to stop, move a log, and then restart the chainsaw. This is my only criticism after using it for about a cord of cutting.
86% liked the engine power
After over four years of heavy use, my motor burned up, which is not a big surprise.
I can easily handle bush bases of about 2-3 inches and a few small trees with 4-6 inch bases with the chainsaw.
I had no problem with 12-inch rounds thanks to the ample motor on this chainsaw.
I appreciate the safety feature of the chainsaw, particularly the mechanism that stops the chain immediately when the trigger is released, preventing any accidents while setting the saw down.
I find the chainsaw's alarm extremely annoying when it kicks in after coming off the throttle. It is assumed to be a warning that the saw is still powered on, but I find it very annoying.
I used the chainsaw to cut down an 18-inch stump and noticed it gave a puff of smoke. It still works but feels like it's missing power.
