I noticed that the fan has 8 blades and it moves a lot of air even at low speeds. It is also quiet at low speeds.

The motor runs on an HVDC inverter internal to our unit, which drives a permanent magnet motor.

The hanger ball attached to the downrod measured approximately 2 inches at its widest, and the diameter of the cradle bracket the ball sits in to be also 2 inches. Simply putting the ball in the cradle bracket, and pulling down with a few pounds of force caused the hanger ball to slide right through. This design flaw caused the fan to fall from the ceiling, which could have been dangerous.
