I tried testing the voice clarity at a 2 mile radius but couldn't get my spouse on the other end. However, it worked great at about 1/2 mile.

The radio has an impressive range. I was able to communicate with it from 8 miles away with no obstruction until the static took over.
When I paired the CB-two-way-radios with a longer whip antenna, I found the range to be excellent for hunting. It was tested over 2 miles in wooded terrain.
