I did not require any extra installation kit for my 2005 Jetta even though it looked like it needs one.
The car stereo receiver fits my 2007 Chevy aveo5 nicely.
I connected the product to the car wiring by purchasing a cable that allowed an interface to the car wiring. I soldered all the connections between the two cables, which shows that I installed the product myself and faced this problem personally. Based on my experience, I can say that it was a challenging task.
I faced difficulty in installing the car-stereo-receiver myself. The metal brackets in the pic looked right but they were not. I had to either trim a section of the dash or the 2 metal brackets. Based on my experience, I can say that the user has commented on the difficulty of installation.
