About ATOTO S8 Ultra Double Din Car Stereo
Overall Feedback:
94% positive
91% appreciated the intuitive volume control, but 9% raised concerns
I can do things with the unit that would typically require me to look at the radio and find the right button or knob, such as adjusting the volume or changing the channel.
Having physical buttons for volume, skip and home is a nice feature.
I find the push buttons for volume +/- a bit cumbersome and miss the factory volume knob. I am considering hacking the SWC input and using a rotary encoder with an Arduino to get a turning knob.
87% highlighted the exceptional screen quality, but 13% didn't
The touch screen on my new device has better contrast than my previous Pioneer.
The OLED screen looks beautiful and very HD. The glare and reflections while driving in the day are not bad.
The brightness is good and the automatic dimming is really nice.
At night, the screen is somewhat too bright and hard to ignore, but it's good in daylight.
On a bright sunny day, the screen gets washed out, especially while using a Navigation Map with a light background.
While driving at night, I found the white content too bright and distracting.
88% were praised the high-quality camera
The camera quality is good with no issues in the front and rear camera. It is easy to view even in daytime (not direct sunlight).

The car's in-dash navigation GPS unit shuts off all radios and apps running, but starts back up within 2 seconds when turned back on.
I have not faced any issues with slowdowns and the system is very responsive.

92% appreciated the easy installation process, but 8% didn't
I was impressed by the documentation and found it easy to install.
I had never installed a headunit in my car before and I was scared, but I did it. I watched a ton of Youtube videos, read instructions, and forums for any potential problems I may have while installing.
It took me a long time to install because I did it myself and there were some lost emails.
I can do things with the unit that would typically require me to look at the radio and find the right button or knob, such as adjusting the volume or changing the channel.
I appreciate the presence of tactile physical buttons on my car's in-dash navigation GPS unit. It makes it easy to use while driving, especially for simple tasks like adjusting the volume.
I was able to install the car-in-dash-navigation-gps-unit myself with the help of a youtube tutorial and a $4 socket set from Walmart. The installation process was not hard at all.
