About MagiCan, Manual Can Opener with Lid Release
Overall Feedback:
73% positive
68% liked the sturdy build, but 32% found it flimsy
I suspect that the manufacturing quality is poor and it degrades over time, causing it to fail to work as intended.
I compared the build quality of this can opener with my previous one and found it to be flimsy and low quality.
I compared the quality of the old and new can-openers. The old one was heavy and could cut through tins easily, even tins with pull loops which broke. However, the new one is not as good as the old one and the quality has gone down.
I marked down the can opener to 4 stars because it does not feel as solidly built as my previous version.
69% found it compatible
I ordered the can opener after visiting family who had used it for 20+ years and it still opened their cans with ease. It is incredible and easy to use.
68% praised for its sharp cutting wheel, but 32% found it dulled quickly
The tin opener cuts below the rim of the lid instead of within it.
I tried using the can opener both upside down and right way up, but it was unable to pierce the tin of dog food where the loop had broken. The tin was quite thick and had quite a deep recessed, but I expect a tin opener to be able to handle such tins.
I have noticed that the Magic Can opener cuts further down the side of the can compared to the Safety Can opener, resulting in the removal of the crimp lip at the top of the can from the body of the can, weakening the sides of the can and causing a mess.
Rephrased: The Magic Can opener cuts further down the side of the can than the Safety Can opener, weakening the sides and causing a mess.
71% found it easy to operate, while 29% struggled with it
I am satisfied with the new can opener as it works smoothly and effortlessly, making it a lifesaver.
The opener is easy to use and hold, but the handle could be better designed as it is a little flimsy and not very ergonomic.
The can opener was difficult to use and I nearly cut myself attempting to use it.
The tin opener lacks leverage on the knob, making it unsuitable for those with mobility problems in their hands.
The can opener only works for half a turn of the handle.
I found the operation of the can opener very poor and the turning handle difficult to operate.
70% appreciated its multiple functions, although 30% found them unnecessary
I'm not used to the opener's horizontal operation.
I have complained that the can opener slips after half a turn of the handle due to worn down teeth on the gear, making it difficult to open the can and requiring twice the time and effort.
I find that the MagiCan opener cannot open tins as it should.
I faced difficulties opening canned ingredients for meals and had to use a knife, which was time-consuming and ineffective.
65% liked the quiet operation, but 35% found it loud
The can opener slips in the next half turn after working fine in the previous half turn.
64% appreciated the safety features, although 36% found them inadequate
I am concerned about the safety features of the new Magic Can opener, specifically the raw/sharp edge it leaves around the top of the can sides.
