About Ram-Pro 12 oz Aluminum Can Crusher & Bottle Opener
Overall Feedback:
92% positive
83% appreciated its durable construction, though 17% experienced breakage issues
I have compared the durability of two can-crusher models and found that the 77702 model is more durable due to its reliance on brute, bent steel rather than small rivets.
I find the can crusher to be very durable and effective in crushing cans.
After only a week of use, the paint is flaking away and catching on itself.
I was surprised by the poor quality of construction of the unit.
87% found it easy to use, while 13% had difficulties with the mechanism
I found it easy to install with a drill and easy to use.
The can crusher is easy to install and use.
Sometimes the cans get stuck and I have to pry the aluminum out from the gap its wedged in, depending on the size of the can or angle it gets crushed.
When mounted on a wall, the can crusher requires a 180 arc to operate, which can be challenging. On a horizontal surface, it needs to be leaned back and held with one hand, making it difficult to use.
87% praised the powerful crushing performance, but 13% found it struggled with larger cans
In the beginning, the unit worked perfectly but then started clogging up slowly.
The product does not perform well and requires two hands to hold it during a single can crush.
74% praised its safety features and design, although 26% had concerns about the mechanism
I suggest using a square of duct tape on the top and bottom crusher surfaces to avoid the safety issue of the can being spat out during crushing. This will give the crusher something pressure sensitive with which to bite the can slightly, and the duct tape cures the spitting can issue.
I am concerned about the lack of safety measures on the crusher to prevent cans from flying out, which could be dangerous due to the sharp edges of the cans.
72% liked its compact design, but 28% found it too bulky for their needs
I compared the size and weight of this can-crusher with another model. It is more compact and kitchen-friendly in appearance, but less sturdy.
I faced an issue with the rivets holding the unit together after crushing roughly one 30gallon bags worth of cans.
83% praised the compatibility
I have a tip to make the can crusher more compatible with cans. Use duct tape to help the crusher bite the can slightly and prevent it from being spat out during crushing.
I have compared the durability of two can-crusher models and found that the 77702 model is more durable due to its reliance on brute, bent steel rather than small rivets.
I have noticed that the bottom metal plate is held in place by only two rivets, and while smashing a can, I have to hold the bottom plate from tilting forward or the can shoots out.
I attached the can crusher by the electrical panel in the garage without using anchors.
