About Platypus Quickdraw Ultralight 1 Liter Backpacking Water Filter System
Overall Feedback:
94% positive
92% praised for its long-lasting durability, while 8% experienced a shorter lifespan
I have used the filter for hiking, backpacking, and camping with my family.
I have been using the platypus gravity filter for years and it's my go-to personal filter, though I have also used KATADIN BeFree.
I spent a month in the elk mountains of Colorado and filtered water for 2 people with ease and speed.
I have noticed that filters that advertise value often leak, indicating durability issues.
90% appreciated its easy cleaning
I expect the filtering effectiveness to meet the specifications.
92% found it easy to use
When the bottle is empty, I can just squeeze the filter on the trail and keep on hiking or, better yet, leave the filter on the bag and drink straight through it.
The filter is easy to use with a gentle squeeze for a gentle flow of water, unlike other filters that require sucking. This makes it easy to fill a small cup or share with friends.
94% appreciated its effectiveness, but 6% questioned its effectiveness
This backpacking filter is the best yet with specific features like size, weight, filtration, flow, and the ability to clean/test the filter.
I have not tested the product's filtering effectiveness for removing particulates, but I expect it to meet the specifications.
92% liked its lightweight and compact design
I find this filter to be small, lightweight, with good filtration, decent flow, and the ability to clean/test the filter.
When I am camping alone or on a trail run or day hike, this filter is the best. However, for a group of 2+, I would still use the gravity filter.
96% praised for its fast water flow rate
This filter can filter a full liter of water in around 35 seconds.
The filter has a gentle squeeze for a gentle flow of water. It's easy to fill a small cup or share with friends.
88% liked its ability to filter large quantities of water
When I'm camping alone or on a trail run or day hike, this filter is the best. I would still use the gravity filter for a group of 2+.
I appreciate the threads of the filter that can accept both bigger openings of platypus bags and smaller threads of items like SMART water bottles.
During my month-long trip in the elk mountains of Colorado, I filtered water for 2 people with ease and speed.
I tested the puribag on very muddy water from a local park and it was amazing. It removed all the dirt/junk from the water and collected it at the bottom of the bag.
I used the filter on an overnight trip and it got down to low 30s without cracking.
