About GRAYL GeoPress 24 oz Water Purifier Bottle
Overall Feedback:
87% positive
81% praised for its long-lasting durability, while 19% experienced a shorter lifespan
I have just received the bottle, so I cannot comment on its durability yet.
My unit became unusable due to leakage caused by a cracked outer shell, indicating poor durability of the product.
I suggest making the threads more aggressive like those on the filter.
74% appreciated its easy cleaning, while 26% found it high maintenance
There is consistently a bit of water in the bottom of the shell after filtering, which can be a problem if I am out and about in a hot climate as it can lead to a smelly mess.
Removing the inner bottle from the outer is difficult as the wide diameter plastic tube (outer part) is hard to grip while pulling up on the inner part with limited gripping areas.
On the second try, it took almost a minute to complete the process.
79% found it easy to using, while 21% had difficulties
The simplicity and speed of use tipped me over to buy the product again.
I find it not very easy to use, but I manage to use it. Being a weightlifter, I have the strength to use it.
Filtering the water can be awkward as it requires a counter or the ground to press on and it's not the easiest to use.
It may be difficult for me to separate the pieces of the bottle if I don't have strong hands.
83% appreciated its effectiveness
Grayl is the gold standard for water purification as it removes all potential contaminants, is quick to use, and has been tested and certified to meet the United States Environmental Protection Agency's Guide Standard and Protocol for testing microbiological water purifiers.
The filter works as advertised and takes only 10 seconds to give 24oz of clean water.
80% liked its lightweight and compact design, but 20% found it bulky
The filter has a double-walled design which makes it a bit bulky.
For me, the only downside of the product is that it's quite heavy for backpacking.
77% liked its ability to filter large quantities of water, while 23% found it limited
The filter has a capacity of up to 5L per minute, making it suitable for filling multiple containers quickly in a shared system.
I had to apply my full 180lb body weight to successfully press and get clean water. I even bruised my palms after only a few presses.
I find this filter difficult to use and it makes me feel weak.
The bottle failed to perform when I tried to push through clean filtered water. I am 61 200lbs of muscle.
I have tested the durability of the LifeStraw by subjecting it to various weather conditions and rough handling, and it has proven to be remarkably durable.
