About Morakniv Eldris Fixed-Blade Pocket-Sized Knife with Sandvik Stainless Steel Blade and Plastic Sheath 2.2-Inch.
Overall Feedback:
94% positive
94% praised for its razor-sharp blade
I found that the blade is well hardened and holds its edge. It comes functionally sharp but not well honed. With 5 minutes on a high grade whetstone, it will serve as a great little workhorse.
The knife came razor sharp and has been great for slicing, chopping, and carving.
The blade arrives functionally sharp but not well honed. Give it 5 minutes on a high grade whetstone and it will serve as a great little workhorse.
The steel I bought is pretty stout and I haven't had to sharpen it.
89% liked the comfortable grip, but 11% found it slippery
The handle of the knife is made of a combination of hard plastic and soft rubber material, providing a comfortable and secure grip for all four fingers without slipping or causing irritation.
I added a paracord loop and knot to the knife's grip for extra grip and security when pulling the knife, enhancing its comfort.
The knife handle provides a good grip, but it is too bulky to carry around in my pocket.
97% liked its compact and portable design
The tool is easy to control with its long handle and short blade. It can be carried in a pocket with the blade cover.
This blade is excellent for starting fires and is lightweight, making it suitable for backpackers who need a blade for food prep and kindling/fire work. It has less moving parts than a pocket knife and provides precise control with its ergonomic handle.
98% appreciated its rugged build
Mora knives are known for their durability and are made to be quite durable.
The knife is nice and stiff, sharpens easily, and holds an edge even with a true scandi grind.
96% praised the high-quality sheath, but 4% found it flimsy
The sheath quality of my Mora knife is typical and has not changed much from their last upgrade. The small lugs on the inside lip of the sheath lock into the handle indentions, making it more secure than my previous Mora knife with teardrop locking lugs, but less positive than the classic Mora companion sheath.
I am dissatisfied with the quality of the sheath as the knife has fallen out of it due to an impact.
I found that the blade is well hardened and holds its edge. It comes functionally sharp but not well honed. With 5 minutes on a high grade whetstone, it will serve as a great little workhorse.
The initial impression of the knife was good. The serrations were super sharp and the blade was decently hollow ground, but it needed some work to achieve a razor edge.
I found that the knife came razor-sharp from the factory and I can slice thin curls off a sheet of paper without honing it. I've used it on a couple of trips and it's still as sharp as when I first used it.
The blades hold an edge well and are extremely sharp right out of the sheath.
