I like the size and shape of the handle at the top of the flint. It is large enough and properly designed for comfortable and easy grip while drawing the flint across the steel.
Practicing with the ferro rod is the most important element to use it easily. Different knives, strikers, and circumstances can be used for practice.

I recommend buying the original if you cringe at the thought of using your knife as a striker, as the price is unbeatable.
