About Igloo Coolers Marine Ultra Series Insulated Portable Cooler
Overall Feedback:
81% positive
80% appreciated its rugged and durable design, though 20% experienced issues with leakage
I have always liked Igloo Marine coolers for their durability and construction.
The cooler is very sturdy with good ice retention. We purchased it for daily outings on our pontoon boat.
I have complained about severe blow molding defects in the cooler, causing it to not lay flat and secure. Even after returning the first one, the second one still has the same issue.
The cooler broke as soon as I took it out of the box and half the screws were stripped out by whoever assembled it.
The coolbox is lightweight and strong, but the walls, lid and floor seem very thin and may not provide good insulation.
76% liked the spacious capacity, but 24% found it too small
The cooler is well built, sturdy, and has good ice retention. It is also very large and can hold 2 cases of drinks and 20 lbs of ice with ease.
The cooler is marked as 54-quart Marine Ultra but it looks smaller than my older Legend 54-quart models. I accurately measured water and found that it holds exactly 48 quarts of water.
I had the cooler in my camper under the refrigerator at the Washington coast last weekend. The high temps outside were at 65-70 and the ice only lasted a day at the most, even with all items and cooler pre-cooled prior to the trip and after multiple ice additions.
The ice melted completely in just two days inside the vehicle, indicating that the advertised 5-day retention is not accurate.
80% liked how easy it was to clean, but 20% found it difficult
It is important to keep the drain plug tight as the cooler may jostle around in the car or truck and cause a puddle.
76% praised for its leak-resistant performance, but 24% experienced leakage issues
I have noticed that the drain plug of this cooler leaks, but it is a slow leak, like a drop an hour slow.
Rephrased: The drain plug of this cooler leaks slowly, like a drop an hour.
I need to keep the drain plug tight to prevent water leakage, as it can lead to a puddle by the end of the day.
I have noticed that the cooler leaks water even when the lid gasket is closed, making it useless.
This cooler is not suitable for marine use as it can be a safety hazard in choppy or rough water.
79% found it easy to carry and maneuver
The cooler is easy to transport to and from the dock with its flip up handle and oversized wheels.
The product has wheels for easy transportation and a handle to navigate it from point A to point B.
The cooler has built-in rod holders with swappable drink holders, which is pure genius.
76% praised for its exceptional performance
I noticed that the outside of the cooler was so cold that it was difficult to hold. This indicates that the cooler has good temperature retention.
The cooler has good temperature retention as it was difficult to hold due to its cold exterior.
On Tuesday evening, the water was still around 37 degrees, indicating that our cooler can retain temperature for a long time.
My Igloo cooler holds ice for four days and nights.
I did not mention anything specific about the build quality of the product.
