The axe is light, easy to keep sharp, and sturdy. I have been using it for over 25 years with no complaints.

I sanded off the varnish on the handle and soaked it with Fiebings neatsfoot oil, which improved the grip and made it easier on my aging hands.

I have provided detailed information on maintaining and caring for the leather grip of the hatchet, including applying Fiebings Neatsfoot Oil for an antique brown finish and non-slip feel. Once saturated with oil, the grip will be nearly impervious to the elements forever.

The cover is not safe. While inspecting the edge, I scraped my palm while sliding it off and again while putting the sheath back into the cover.
Many people have injured their legs or feet due to the short handle of the hatchet.

The axe-hatchet is well-built with a nice thick gauge of steel and weighs 1.3 pounds.
