I noticed that the cable-strap has velcro in both ends, one to attach to the cable and the other to tie it at the end after wrapping the cable.

Shorter ties do not have the slot to attach to cords/cables, causing them to fall off when the velcro is loosened.
The cable straps fall off the cords as soon as you start to loosen/undo the velcro and they are not adjustable.
