I faced issues with the first four connectors I used and had to re-read the documents for the product and the heating device. I concluded that my heating device was sufficient for shrink wrapping and small heat projects but did not generate enough heat to melt the solder.
In a tight area, I couldn't use normal splicing. These butt terminals worked great with the existing broken wires.
