About Amazon Basics #10 Security-Tinted Self-Seal Business Envelopes
Overall Feedback:
78% positive
73% praised the high-quality paper, but 27% found it too thin
The envelopes are made of quality paper.
The smooth surface of Office Works envelopes holds my Avery labels most tightly.
The paper quality of the last 5 boxes I received is not good. The glue is far from the edges, causing a lip when closed and the flap to flare from either side.
I am dissatisfied with the quality of the envelopes I received. The seller cut corners and used lighter weight paper which is causing issues with my laser printer. I will be telling others about this issue and have lost a long time customer.
I noticed that 55 envelopes were glued in the right corner causing the flap to rip when enclosing any document.
74% loved the crisp printing quality, while 26% experienced smudging
The envelopes feed well through the printer, seal well, and have a security print on the inside.
The flaps of the envelope are slightly wider than 8.5 inches and are vertical, creating a notch at the top corners. It is the perfect width to catch and hang up a tri-folded letter when hand stuffing the envelope.
The Amazon Basics envelopes are made of slightly better paper.
Envelopes are not suitable for large mailings with labels as they are easy to peel off.
I noticed that the printer grabs two envelopes for each print due to the thinness of the paper and envelopes.

73% appreciated the secure seal, though 27% experienced leaks
The envelopes seal as expected and are not too thin.
I had to spend extra time, effort, and money to seal each envelope with a long, wrap-around strip of adhesive tape to feel comfortable mailing them.
The adhesion to the envelopes is poor and they can easily be opened after sealing.
71% liked the added security features, although 29% found them inadequate
These envelopes do a good job of hiding checks or cash from dishonest mail handlers or snoopy people near the mailbox.
The only difference I could detect between these envelopes and the ones I usually buy is that the flap of the Amazon envelopes is about a quarter inch shorter than the flap on the other brand.
71% liked the perfect size and fit, while 29% found it too snug
The envelope is the perfect size for folding tri-fold lengthwise or mailing 11 X 8.5 inch documents or letters for personal or business purposes.
The Amazon Basics envelopes are slightly smaller than the Top Flight ones, but it doesn't affect fitting a typical triple-folded business-sized letter.
The flaps of the envelope are just slightly wider than 8.5 inches, creating a notch at the top corners and making it perfect to catch and hang up a tri-folded letter when hand stuffing the envelope.

76% praised the envelope's tear resistance, but 24% experienced tears
The problem with Amazon envelopes is their rough surface, which makes it difficult for label adhesive to grip, resulting in labels being easily peeled off.
The adhesion is terrible and it's hard to get it sealed. Plus, it breaks open randomly with more than a thin piece of paper inside.
The adhesion to these envelopes is poor, making them vulnerable to tear and damage after sealing.
I had to discard about a dozen envelopes as they were unusable, while the remaining 488 envelopes were fine.
I have complained about the paper quality of these envelopes. They are thin and sheer, which could be a security issue for sensitive documents, despite the similar price to other envelopes I have bought.
I recommend buying these envelopes as they work fine with my laser printer.
