The motion detection feature of this camera is quite good with a lot of customization options. It can use AI to determine whether the motion is caused by a person or an animal, which is extremely helpful as I have a lot of feral cats in my neighborhood that would constantly set off my old cameras.
The motion detection is good, but it always detects motion due to the highway in front of my home.
Motion detection is highly sensitive and picks up even the slightest movement, including air movement. It also detects branches on a tree as an intrusion and sometimes detects a person even when there is nothing moving. Additionally, a moth in front of the lens is detected as an intrusion.

The camera is easy to use with compatibility to Alexa and Google Home.
Adding cameras via the Tapo app is easy and it automatically integrates with Alexa if the skill is enabled.
I am frustrated that the device uses a different app than the Kasa line.

I found the camera's motion sensitivity adjustment feature helpful as it allows me to choose the part of the camera image where I want motion detection. This is particularly useful for me as a piece of tarp in my field of view always moves when it's windy.
I was hoping to use the person detection option to detect humans approaching, but it gets triggered too often as it takes into consideration the entire view range of the camera.
I am not satisfied with the view range of the Tapo outdoor camera. Comparing it with my Ring doorbell, I have to choose between seeing my porch or parking area with the Tapo camera.
