About ieGeek Wireless Security Camera Outdoor 2K 3MP
Overall Feedback:
78% positive
89% liked the motion detection accuracy, but 11% didn't
After moving the camera location and tweaking some settings in the app, I have noticed that the motion detection works much better than before.
The battery life is good, consuming only 4-8% energy capacity each day with 10 motion detections.
The motion detection feature of the camera works well without significant false alerts.
I am disappointed with the motion detection accuracy of the camera. It only works sometimes and doesn't pick up movement even when I am right in front of the camera. I tried changing the sensitivity but it didn't help.
I noticed that the camera is advertised as 2K which should be equivalent to 4 MP resolution, but the stated resolution is 3 MP (?).

91% highlighted the storage capacity
These cameras have a storage capacity of up to 128gb micro SD cards, but I find that 32gb is adequate for my needs.
I added memory cards for local storage of video and pictures. It also has looping screenshots and video available through the phone app.
94% found it weather resistant, while 6% faced issues
The camera has an IP65 rating, making it suitable for outdoor use in rain or snow.
I used the camera in erratic weather in the south and it was not negatively impacted.
The camera charges automatically even on cloudy days, indicating its weather resistance.
Installation was easy and it can withstand rain, wind and freezing temperatures.
I pulled out the solar power plug and water came out of the charging port.
After a light rain, water got into the housing and fogged up the PIR lens, greatly degrading the night video.
I am disappointed with the weather resistance of the camera, even though it is rated at IP65. It stopped working after getting exposed to rain as water entered through the speaker holes on the back.
95% highlighted the field of view, while 5% were dissatisfied
I can see all down the walkway and past my garage with the camera's nice range.
At night, I've found that the best detection trigger range is around 30 feet, but only if the target is near the center of the field of view.
96% were satisfied with the remote accessibility, but 4% weren't
The app configurations are very intuitive, making it easy to access the camera remotely.
I am able to view live video on my phone from anywhere, which is the best feature of the product.
I have noticed that the camera sends sound alerts to my phone, but it cannot notify me by text or e-mail. Adding the ability to send motion detection photos would be helpful.
I chose a camera with 360+ tilt so I can always get the position right even from the remote app.
92% appreciated the night vision capability, but 8% raised concerns
Sometimes I am unable to make out the person in the camera because the night vision capability is not as good as the daytime quality.
94% appreciated the integration with other devices
The camera works with Alexa from Amazon, which is a plus.
The installation was easy and the camera angle fits the frame. The wireless connection works very well.
98% found the installation easy
It was very easy for me to install the camera with the included mount bracket.
Installation was easy and it charges from a solar panel, so I didn't need to find a plug and run any wires outside.
I noticed that one of my cameras went foggy as water got inside. This indicates that the camera is not weather resistant.

The camera has survived hard freezes, down pours, and a high wind event without any cover on a telephone pole.
