I tested the waterproofness of the boots myself by wearing them in a mini-typhoon that hit SE Louisiana. I wrestled with the canopy for 45 minutes and the boots kept my feet dry for most of it. Although the water was higher than the top of the boot when I stepped off the concrete part in front of the garage, the boots still kept my feet dry. I am satisfied with the waterproofness of the boots.
