About Etekcity Smart Digital Bathroom Scale, Scales for Body Weight and Fat
92% found it to be highly accurate, while 8% noticed inconsistencies
The only accurate reading in this scale is weight. The app uses the BIA principle for other body data, but it is generally very inaccurate. It even thought I had a higher body fat percentage when I was a bodybuilder.
I have always found the body fat percentage to be off. It is around 80% higher than the Hydrostatic dunk test, which is the gold standard of body fat testing.
I have noticed that my body fat percentage is not accurate according to the Etekcity app. I can tell by looking at myself and reference photos that I am around 26% body fat, while the app says I am at 18%, which is actually my goal.
70% liked the long battery life
When I tested the scale with dumbbells, it measured weight accurately.
73% appreciated the connectivity with multiple devices, although 27% experienced connection issues
My body fat percentage is not accurate according to the Etekcity app. I compared it with my actual body fat percentage and reference photos, and the app shows a lower percentage than my goal, which is not possible.
86% appreciated the data tracking, although 14% found it limited
I purchased this device even though it is highly inaccurate for measuring body fat percentage because it provides a good idea of progress through the app features.
The scale is only accurate for weight measurement. The app uses the BIA principle for other body data, but it is generally inaccurate. It even thought I had a higher body fat percentage than I do when I was a body builder.
I can tell that my body fat percentage is way off by looking at myself and reference photos. The Etekcity app says I'm at 18%, which is actually my goal, but I believe I'm around 26%.
