About Sabrent USB Bluetooth 4.0 Micro Adapter for PC
Overall Feedback:
73% positive
92% liked the high-quality build, but 8% experienced durability issues
The Bluetooth dongle has a small form factor USB and a strong plastic and metal build.
I tried out the connection from my PC to the speaker in the garden while streaming Amazon Music. I also used Bluetooth earplugs with a built-in mic for gaming and the connection was excellent.
The price of this product is higher compared to others, but it works seamlessly due to the chipsets used.
I experienced a login page problem due to the introduction of a security tag option after installing the software. The issue was resolved after uninstalling the software.
72% liked its compatibility with multiple devices, but 28% had issues with certain brands
I had issues with the adapter being recognized by my laptop, but eventually it was recognized in the 3rd usb port. I paired my Skullcandy bluetooth earbuds to it and the sound quality was great.
I believe the device is of VIA type and has compatibility issues.
I am disappointed and uncertain whether the issue is with the device being defective or if it is not compatible with my Toshiba notebook.
I bought a device that didn't work with my VR headset. The mixed reality checker showed that my bluetooth was insufficient.
80% found it easy to install, while 20% had trouble with the process
The installation process was smooth and the dongle attached to the USB port without any incident.
The installation on Windows 10 was simple. I inserted the CD, ran the setup program, rebooted, and then inserted the transceiver into an open USB 2.0 port. The icon for the program was in hidden icons on the taskbar. Right-clicking it, adding a Bluetooth device, and confirming pairing completed the installation.
The kit comes with an installation disc containing Windows software drivers and Sabrent provides drivers for various operating systems on their website.
I faced difficulties identifying the devices on Win 7 after installing the driver from the CD. I had to install the driver CD to get my PC to notice the Bluetooth adapter.
72% praised for its extended range, while 28% experienced connection drops
I can consistently get about 50 feet of range, which may also depend on the headphones.
I use the adapter to connect my BT headphones to the computer and the sound is excellent.
I am getting a distance of about 100 feet and the sound comes through as if I am hard wired.
The range of our Bluetooth adapter is less.
88% appreciated the fast transfer speeds, though 12% experienced lag
Transferring files with a cable is faster than with Bluetooth, but Bluetooth is sometimes very convenient.
I use it for my Bluetooth earbuds, but haven't tried file transfers yet.
While transferring data from thumb drive to wifi adapter, wifi got disconnected.
I have used several of these adapters to add Bluetooth to systems that either do not have it or their native BT capability has become defective, indicating good build quality.
After posting my experience, Plugable contacted me and pointed out that desktop components without integrated bluetooth don't often bother with shielding to prevent interference.
