The range of this adapter is definitely an upgrade over my old Asus BT400 and Plugable bluetooth usb 4.0 adapter. I did encounter audio drop outs and range issues with the old adapters in a few spots, but the BT500 adapter kept the audio going in those areas.
The Bluetooth range is only about 10 feet, which is much less than what I get with other Bluetooth devices.
My adapter's range is poor as it completely cuts out if my hand is in front of the headset.
