About EasyTouch Glucose Monitoring System - (1 Meter, 10 Twist Lancets, 1 Lancing Device per Box)
Overall Feedback:
67% positive
78% praised for its accurate readings, while 22% experienced inconsistent results
I find the monitor to be very accurate compared to others.
I tried one of these meters recommended by the pharmacist for their good quality and accuracy. The price was similar to what was available at the local pharmacy.
If the reading is out of range, taking another 1 or 2 readings will probably give a more accurate reading.
I used the blood glucose monitor three times in a row and got different measurements every time. I also used it for three consecutive days and it was way off every time. For instance, I got readings that varied significantly.
78% found it easy to operate, but 22% struggled with the complexity
This blood glucose monitor is easy to use with a nice size and fast droplet readings.
This meter has a nice size screen for easy readout, beeps when the blood sample is taken and upon inserting a strip. The strips are larger and easy to handle, requiring only a smaller blood sample than OneTouch.
I found this blood-glucose-monitor easier to use once I learned the differences.
I would not recommend the Easy Touch blood glucose monitor, but the lancer and lancettes (30 gage) from Easy Touch are cheap and seem to work just the same as the Contour Next meter and lancettes from Easy Touch.
80% appreciated the long battery life, but 20% experienced frequent battery drain
I did not mention anything about the battery life of the blood glucose monitor.
I am disappointed with the glucose monitor's accuracy, as it is not reliable for high glucose readings and not worth the price.
I am frustrated with the accuracy of the readings. What is the point of having a test instrument if it cannot be trusted?
I suspected that the meter and strips were not accurate when I first used them.
72% found it convenient to carry around
I like the size of the blood glucose monitor because it is bigger than my previous ones and I have trouble with small objects due to my aging hands.
69% liked the high-quality test strips, though 31% experienced expired or faulty strips
I tested the Easy Touch right out of the box and compared the readings with my old One Touch meter. I found a difference of 20-25 bgL in the readings. My glucose reading on my old One Touch was 140 bgL. For the Easy Touch, 160 bgL. Then again when my glucose was 145, this meter was 165.
I cannot take 5 back to back readings and have any of them match from the start.
I ran a side-by-side test of this new kit against my Onetouch with my remaining strips and found a 30 point difference.
I have been logging my blood glucose readings every day for years and noticed that the test strips of this blood glucose monitor are not accurate. The readings were outside the normal range for me and seemed high for the next few days. On the 4th day, I got a reading that was 40mm higher than normal, and I knew this was wrong.
There is a specific method to check the accuracy of the device. It includes a test solution that will accurately assess if the device is functioning within specs.
