About Vortex Optics Diamondback HD Binoculars
95% appreciated the magnification power, yet 5% didn't
For western hunting, 42x10 magnification is enough as higher magnification could lose valuable time to spot a deer.
I appreciate the lower magnification of the binoculars for a steadier image.
Other companies have a slider focus on the side that goes between 10 and 30 power, making it quicker to acquire an object in the air such as a bird in flight.
I cannot get a clean whole image through them and there is a glare that washes out at least half the image on the 10x and about 1/4 of the 8x.
93% of users liked the water and fogg-resistant feature
I used the binoculars from inside to outside and they did not fog up.
87% praised the high-quality lenses and coating, however 13% were disappointed
The image brightness is excellent and significantly better than my other binoculars with 50mm objectives.
I am able to pick up birds much more easily due to the super color rendition and easy focus.
I compared the picture quality of the Vortex model with the Bushnell Legend and found it to be on par. However, the Legend has a slightly sharper image.
I cannot get a clean whole image through the binoculars due to glare that washes out at least half the image on the 10x and about 1/4 of the 8x.
76% liked the wide field of view, but 24% found it narrow
Lower magnification provides a steadier image and is great for viewing things within 30-150 feet.
I have noticed that the binoculars have a good field of view with a clear and focused image.
On higher magnifications, I could lose valuable time spotting a deer and there is a smaller field of view.
