About Nikon Aculon A211 10x42 Binoculars
86% of users liked the water and fog-resistant feature, yet 14% encountered issues
The extreme version of our product is more expensive but it is also fog and water proof, making the view clearer.
I hunted in the rain for a couple of days and found that the binoculars did not leak or fog up despite not being waterproof.
These binoculars are not waterproof, so I need to pack a plastic bag in case it rains while I'm in the field.
74% praised the high-quality lenses and coating, however 26% were disappointed
The optic quality for astronomy is average. I could see many stars that were invisible to the naked eye, but the bright stars were not very sharp and had some color aberration.
I was impressed with the clarity and brightness of the binoculars.
The lenses are crystal clear and the focus wheel is easy to use.
I noticed that the image is bright and clear, but there is noticeable color fringing.
84% liked the wide field of view
I suggest that the binoculars have the most power and anything more would require a tripod or stand to eliminate shakiness while viewing things farther away.
At 300+ yards, I can see clean and crisp views.
The field of view is somewhat narrower than a 7x or 8x lens, but it seems adequate for scanning the skies or field.
I was attracted to these binoculars because of their minimum focal distance. I measured the distance and found that this was the only 10X binocular that would focus in this close of distance.
75% appreciated the magnification power
I suggest using these binoculars with the most power. Anything more would require a tripod or stand to eliminate shakiness while viewing things farther away.
The binoculars performed well compared to my 10 X 50 pair, despite being a little small for serious Astronomy. The 6 degree field of view also makes it easy to find things.
The binoculars have a magnification power of 10 times and require a tripod for prolonged steady viewing. The price is comfortable for me.
At 50-100 ft, I can see intricate details with sufficient magnification. At around 250 ft, I can see enough details on a sparrow-sized bird in shade, and at 500 ft, I can identify features in a large bird.
