About White Lightning Clean Ride The Original Self-Cleaning Wax Bicycle Chain Lubricant
Overall Feedback:
89% positive
86% liked its ability to clean the chain
The product works well and the chain is definitely cleaner. There has been no drop in performance since switching from different types of lubes.
The self cleaning claim actually works. The waxy stuff starts to fly off the chain, taking the dirt and sand with it, which makes the chain cleaner.
82% found it easy to apply, while 18% struggled with the process
The first application of this bike-lube requires a clean drive train. Even after cleaning, there will probably be residual lubricant from previous lube on things. The White Lightning will take that off quickly, but I will have to reapply it after 10-20 miles the first time I use it. Then it should last for 100 miles in dry conditions, 50 miles in damp conditions, and a single ride in totally wet conditions.
83% appreciated its long-lasting effect
The larger bottle of this bike-lube is good for 25-30 applications and it will last a while.
White Lightning lasts for a good 100 miles and picks up almost no dirt.
85% praised for its excellent lubrication, while 15% thought it wore off quickly
After using the product, I noticed that the chain is cleaner and there has been no drop in performance since switching from dry, wet and ceramic lubes.
After using White Lightning lubricant, my chain is now clean to the touch and there is no accumulation of grime on the chain, preventing anything from grinding away and wearing everything out.
The bottle design is bad as it causes the liquid to gush out too fast for lubing a bike chain and any sort of squeeze is worse.
87% appreciated its water-resistant properties, though 13% found it washed off easily
As I ride and accumulate sand and dirt on the chain, the waxy stuff starts to fly off, taking the dirt and sand with it.
I have noticed that this lubricant is not suitable for a bike ridden in rain.
I have mentioned the steps to clean the bike-lube. Wipe the chain down completely with wet towels and scrub, then hand dry. Once the chain is dry, flip the bike so you spin the chain. Squeeze the lube onto the moving chain as you spin the chain/bikes. Soak the chain, then let it sit for 30 minutes. Finally, wipe off any excess with a paper towel when you come back.
