About WD-40 Specialist Bike Chain Lube
Overall Feedback:
85% positive
84% liked its ability to clean the chain, but 16% found it left residue
After four years of riding my bike to work six days a week, the product cleaned up the chain so well that it now rides like new again.
I suggest wiping the chain before and after each ride to maintain the cleanliness of the drive line, extend its life, and reduce watts lost.
I can easily clean the bike-lube by spraying it on and rinsing off after a few minutes.
I need to apply the degreaser multiple times and use brushes to get the job done as it is not as strong as expected.
79% found it easy to apply, while 21% struggled with the process
I recommend applying a small amount of lubricant while rotating the chain and changing gears, and removing the excess with a rag for a clean bike and chain, and longer-lasting components.
Not much lube is required and it's up to me to decide how much to use.
I find this bike-lube easy to apply and have provided a step-by-step guide on how to do it.
I am dissatisfied with the aerosol can method of applying the lube, as it is the worst way imaginable.
My only complaint with the product is the aerosol can, which I find to be the worst method of applying the lube.
76% appreciated its long-lasting effect, but 24% found it broke down quickly
I compared the longevity of WD40 All-Conditions Dry Lube with T9 Boeshield and found that WD40 lubricant caused noise within 20 minutes in the same conditions in which T9 lasted for 3 days.
My previous lube lasted for 300 miles before needing to clean and lube again, but this WD-40 didn't even last for a 30-mile ride.
I found that the WD40 All-Conditions Dry Lube did not last long on my chain, even in dry dusty conditions. It started making noise within 20 minutes and after 40 minutes, the chain was hanging up and sucking around the chainring.
84% praised for its excellent lubrication, while 16% thought it wore off quickly
I recommend applying a small amount of lubricant while rotating the chain and changing gears for good lubrication performance.
The drive train is noisy and the chainring shows extreme wear and tear.
In the given conditions, the lubricant caused the chain to get noisy and hang up on the chainring within 40 minutes.
I noticed extreme wear and tear on the chainring and the drive train was noisy.
In the given conditions, the lubricant performed terribly.
65% appreciated its water-resistant properties, though 35% found it washed off easily
When the chain gathered mud, a short squirt from my water bottle was enough to clean it up, indicating that the bike-lube has good water resistance.
I noticed that the product did not hold up in a rain storm, but it is not an all-purpose lube.
The product is not an all-purpose lube and did not hold up in a rain storm.
After applying tri-flow lubricant to the key and pushing it in and out the keyhole several times, my keyhole is now better than new.
