I compared the new tensioner of the helmet with the old one and found it to be an improvement. The new system provides a continuous and smooth increase in tension as the dial is turned. It is easy to adjust in both directions and remains in place when the dial is no longer being turned.
The fit of my helmet seems narrower than my previous Giro helmets, especially on the sides of the occipital lobe, but I easily adjusted the large size to fit comfortably.

Overall, my experience suggests that the helmet is a great choice.
