I found the assembly process of this bicycle-car-rack difficult and frustrating, with some holes not lining up correctly. I had to force the screw in and needed a good ratchet wrench with a large size nut attachment. However, with patience and elbow grease, I was able to assemble it on my own. Someone with some mechanical repair experience may find it easy to assemble.
