The lid of my bento box is secure and leak-proof, preventing any spills or leaks during transportation.
I tested the bento-box by putting water in one of the compartments and closing the lid. It was pretty spill proof as the water stayed in the compartment except for a few drops.
So far, there have been no leaks. However, I haven't tried bringing anything liquidy like yogurt, dips or sauces yet. The little sauce cup with a lid is for that purpose.
My only issue with this lunch box is that it is not leak-proof.
