About Wilton 675U Utility Bench Vise
Overall Feedback:
86% positive
89% praised for its strong clamping force, while 11% found it lacking.
I suggest applying grease on the threads and handle bushing to improve the clamping force of the vise and make it smoother.
The extending jaw of the vise rattles when not tightened more than I would like.
I am concerned about the clamping force of the bench-vise. The jaws are very loose and I am worried that something will break if I try to tighten it. Even with slight to moderate pressure, it is obvious that the jaws are not parallel.
89% liked the durable construction, though 11% experienced rust issues.
I improved the durability of the vise by squaring off the cast pipe jaws and cleaning up in between them.
I find this vise to be smooth even when twisted tightly, indicating its durability.
I am worried that something will break if I try to tighten the jaws of the vise as they are loose. This expresses negative feedback from me with respect to the durability of bench-vises.
The anvil/striking surface is made of soft metal, which may not be durable.
89% found it easy to use 11% struggled with the mechanism.
I improved the performance of the vise by using a flat file and a round file to clean up the cast pipe jaws. It only took about 15 minutes and made it much better.
I find that the extending jaw rattles when not tightened enough for my liking.
My vise's jaws are not parallel and become loose even with slight to moderate pressure.
89% liked the comfortable design, though 11% found it awkward to operate.
With slight to moderate pressure, the jaws are not parallel, making it difficult to work with the vise.
90% appreciated the large jaw capacity, but 10% needed more.
The vise jaws can open up to over 6.5 inches, which is more than stated.
When I don't tighten the extending jaw more, it rattles more than I would like.
88% appreciated the high-quality quality, but 12% found some parts flimsy.
The vise jaws are well aligned and hold work very well, indicating good material quality.
I have noticed that the paint finish is cheap and not powder coated, making it prone to scratches and chips easily.
The paint finish is cheap and not powder coated, making it prone to scratches and chips easily.
I thought the product was cheaply made and the pieces did not fit together properly.
The vise's jaws are too loose, making it unusable.
I expected better match up of castings for the price of the vise.
