About POWERTEC 15507 1/2" Arbor 100-Grit Silicon Carbide Grinding Wheel
Overall Feedback:
68% positive
75% appreciated its long-lasting durability, though 25% found it wore out quickly.
The wheel is durable and does not wear out quickly when sharpening carbide.
I received a warped and visually wobbly wheel.
76% found it easy to mount and balance, while 24% had difficulties.
I thought the wheels were going to come apart because of the cheap plastic arbors causing too much vibration.
78% praised for its exceptional grinding performance, while 22% experienced inconsistencies.
This grinding wheel is much better than the aluminium oxide wheel for grinding hard stuff. It can grind tungsten quickly and produce a needle-sharp end.
I am concerned that the grinding wheel could self-destruct during use, indicating poor grinding performance.
The grinding wheel wears down fast and lasts only six months. The material is very soft but it does grind.
I was shocked by the poor performance of the wheel. It spews grit into my face and immediately shaves the wheel down.
86% liked the smooth surface finish
I prefer using the wheel over the aluminium oxide wheel for grinding hard materials like tungsten as it produces a needle sharp end.
83% liked the minimal vibration, but 17% experienced excessive vibration.
I tried several other wheels with adjustable bushings to accommodate different arbor sizes but found them dangerous due to wobbling and vibration, causing my stand-mounted machine to walk across the floor.
I noticed that the wheel spews grit into my face and shaves it down quickly, indicating a high vibration level that makes it difficult to use.
I have complained about the surface finish of the wheel not being even and showing signs of handling before it was sold to me due to color inconsistency.
I needed a grinding wheel that wouldn't remove too much metal at once.
