I found it easy to trim my beard to the perfect length once I got the hang of it.
I prefer trimming at 2-3 mm, but this trimmer only offers a very short 1mm cut or a longer 4mm cut with the shortest attachment, which is not ideal for me. This highlights the issue with the hair length settings on this beard-mustache trimmer.

I have noticed that the trimmer has two speed options. Slow speed does not cut as well and occasionally pulls on a whisker. High speed works much better and provides a decent trim with maybe a one-day stubble.
