About KONNWEI KW650 6V 12V Car Battery Tester
Overall Feedback:
77% positive
75% praised for its accurate readings, but 25% found inconsistencies.
I was surprised to find that 9 out of 14 batteries tested as being rechargeable and in good health.
I believe the readings are accurate and compared the voltage against a fluke meter with like results.
To get accurate readings, I suggest ensuring that the battery cables and posts are not corroded.
68% liked that it's powered by batteries or usb, but 32% found the batteries drained quickly.
The battery-tester has good battery life and can detect the battery health of my 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe, which is about 3 years old and not driven much. The battery loses its charge due to typical parasitic current draw from the on-board computer, clock, radio, etc.
The battery fell short of its CCA rating of 800 amps by 250 amps.
71% appreciated its compatibility with multiple battery types, though 29% found it didn't support their specific battery.
I appreciate the KW650's compatibility with 6V batteries, which is a nice feature.
Once I made sure the connections were solid, I got consistent results with several batteries over multiple tests.
I am not getting consistent and repeatable results while checking the battery using the software and manual.
I faced difficulty selecting the battery type from a long list of cryptic battery codes not present in my battery.
80% liked the clear and bright display, but 20% found it dim and difficult to read.
After removing surface charge, the longer I set battery parameters, the more voltage my battery would recover and this would affect displayed result.
71% praised for its rugged design, while 29% experienced durability issues.
I feel that the tester is sturdy enough to hold up to constant use, such as in an automotive shop, indicating good durability.
I suggest that for measuring small resistance to determine battery health, direct clamping to the lead studs of the battery gives the best results with good connections.
80% found it easy to operate
The KW650 is easy to use and has proven to be very repeatable in analyzing battery condition.
The battery tester is very easy to use. Just clamp it on and start the car to take a reading.
68% appreciated its compatibility with multiple battery types

I believe the scale measures the percent of 'usable' power rather than 0-12 volts, as it reads '0%' around 6 volts.
