About NOCO GENIUS5, 5-Amp Fully-Automatic Smart Charger
Overall Feedback:
97% positive
95% were impressed with the fast charging speed, while 5% weren't
This charger charged my Harley's lithium battery to full at an unbelievable speed, I don't think it even took an hour.
I found that the unit operates quietly and without getting hot.
Upon arriving home, I was disappointed with the charger's performance. I found that it had drained the battery quite a bit and was extremely hot, indicating that it may have caused damage to the battery. I suggest that the charger may not have stopped charging and killed the battery.
When my batteries reach their maximum voltage, the charger stops working, defeating the purpose of keeping them charged.
The charger stopped working after two and a half months.
92% found it compatible with various devices, but 8% didn't
I love the feature of switching between different types of batteries and the auto shut off feature. It will not charge if I make a mistake.
The battery charger is a maintainer that charges the battery up to the required voltage, not a trickle charger.
When I first connected the charger to my car (Mustang GT 5.0L V8), the headlights started flickering.
The charger killed my battery by not stopping the charging process.
94% found it easy to use, but 6% found it difficult
I found the product easy to use with instructions to apply the battery clamps and then plug it in.
I like the mount that came with the unit and find it easy to remove and use wherever needed.
When I arrived home, the indicator had gone down two levels and was not flashing green anymore.
94% liked the portable design, but 6% found it bulky
After 3 months of vacation, my car started right up without any issues.
I switched to a cheap Schumacher charger from Walmart and it worked flawlessly. This shows that I found it more portable and efficient than the NOCO product.
91% praised the built-in safety features, but 9% experienced issues
The battery charger is safe to leave on indefinitely and charges the battery up to the required voltage, making it ideal for cars stored over the winter.
To ensure safety, connect the clips to the battery and charger before plugging it into the outlet to avoid sparks and hydrogen conflagration.
The charger has an auto shut off feature if I make a mistake while charging and allows me to switch between different types of batteries.
I noticed that the charger overcharged and killed my battery.
The unit went into error mode saying bad batteries, which all tested good. It could be a safety feature issue with the charger.
