The top of the square is made of plastic resembling metal, while the bottom with the sprayer holes is an unattractive grey-black plastic, which differs from the nickel or stainless steel appearance in the computer picture.

The brushed nickel unit's picture made it seem like the bottom is also brushed nickel, but it actually has a black plastic bottom that looks cheap.
I experienced leakage and separation within 10 minutes of first use. I have used delta products for the last 10 years and they are of great quality, but this one felt like a low budget generic brand due to the cheap build and instant failure. I promptly returned it and bought something else. I will not buy delta again this time.
