I tested the bark collar myself starting from the lowest setting and can tell the difference between the settings.
I set the bark-collar too high at 3 for the first time and now it is down to 2 on vibration and 1 on shock.
I suggest reading about the different levels of correction as the collar shows up with level 7 which is the highest one.
The instructions were not clear and I set it too high, resulting in the dog getting shocked.
