Overall Feedback:
80% positive
77% praised the sturdy build, while 23% experienced failure
I installed the pulley and noticed a wobble. I removed it and found that the bearing was not seated evenly. I fixed it by giving it a quick smack with a hammer/socket combo. The quality seems good and I would probably buy it again.
I am impressed with the quality of Gates, a company I had not heard of before. The quality seems excellent.
The pulley is a perfect match for my 2010 Lexus RX350 idler pulley.
The inner diameter of the bushing being the same as the bolt shaft makes it difficult to install the pulley, indicating poor build quality.
76% appreciated the compatibility, but 24% experienced issues
After replacing the pullies, my engine idle became significantly quieter. The old pullies were still functional but a fresh set made a difference.
The product is not compatible with my 2006 Toyota Tacoma 2.7L.
78% praised the long-lasting durability
I decided to replace the serpentine belt and idler pulley while I had it off.
After installation, I faced an issue with the idler pulley. I noticed a wobble and removed it to find that the bearing was not seated evenly. I fixed it with a quick smack and found the quality to be good. I would probably buy it again. Verifying the bearing alignment is suggested as it could be easily missed in production.

I faced a common problem while installing the idler pulley. I reached out to the Gates support and they confirmed that the bushing needs to be put on top of the pulley.
Installing the idler pulley was a bit challenging due to the tight fit between the pulley and the inner fender, hoses, etc. I had to enlist the help of my daughter with smaller hands to route the belt as I moved the idler tension pulley and got the belt on from the top.
91% liked the quiet operation, but 9% reported noise
After replacing the idler pulley, the car no longer makes any chirping/whirring or grinding noise.
I did not mention anything about the noise level of the automotive replacement idler pulleys. My review focuses on the installation process and confirmation from Gates support about the placement of the bushing.

I noticed that the image of idler shows a quality NSK bearing which carries 90%+ workload of the part.
The NSK bearing in the idler carries over 90% of the workload.
