About That Black Stuff Plastic Restorer Restore Black Plastic Trim to Factory OEM Look
Overall Feedback:
84% positive
78% praised the durability
After using the product, my trim still looks good even after a few days.
80% found it easy to use, while 20% struggled
I suggest using painter's tape around the trim while using the product.
I am concerned about how easily the product can be removed from paint and skin.
80% praised the effectiveness
The product can make rubber look brand new by re-dyeing it.
I highly recommend this product as it is easy to use. Avoid direct sunlight or hot trim when applying it and use a thin facial sponge to keep things from getting messy. The sponge is cheap and effective.
76% found it residue-free, but 24% experienced streaks
After drying, the product leaves no oily or slippery residue.
I was disappointed with the product and tried to remove the material. I was able to remove it using brake cleaner and towels.
Rephrased: I was disappointed with the product and successfully removed the material using brake cleaner and towels.
77% highlighted the scratch resistance, though 23% faced issues
The product has improved the appearance of my truck bed, making it look newer.
I have found that the product maintains its newer look longer as it does not rub off easily.
I provided a picture to show the difference before and after applying the product. The right side has marks indicating the product application and the far left is the normal plastic before application.
The coating is water-based and only provides temporary coverage for the faded finish. It lacks durability and suitable resistance to normal cleaning and washing.
75% liked the high-gloss finish, but 25% didn't
On textured surfaces, the product works well. However, on smooth plastic, one needs to pay more attention as the small lines of the applicator will be visible. It is better to use a ceramic applicator on smooth surfaces.
I can't get an even finish with this product as it leaves lines and marks everywhere.
After 48 hours of dry time, I could easily rub off the chalky, flat finish coating with my fingers.
The ceramic coating is durable, unlike greasy armor sprays that never last.
