The device is efficient but very small. I compared it to a $650 freezer that is almost the size of a small chest freezer and can run for 24 hours on the same battery. It seems a little high on power draw if a unit about 7 times the size is drawing the same power.
I will probably plug the cooler into my vitoman portable power unit during the summer when we have a BBC outside. This way, no one needs to go in and out of the house for cold beers or pops and it uses very little wattage.
When the compressor kicks on, we consume about 35 to 40 watts.
When the compressor is running, the refrigerator only consumes around 30 watts, which is very impressive.
