I attach the auger to the electric drill to get the best results, and it's easier to drill a bigger hole for a bulb or plant.

I wish I'd bought this before I used it to loosen the ground around several posts that were stuck deep in the ground.

I hoped my drill would do better, but it didn't, and I was wondering if it was strong enough.

I was amazed at how easy it was to use, as my yard is mostly clay, and I was able to mix my soil in a bucket, drill holes in the ground for my plants, and finish in 1/2 the time.

The Ames brand planting auger broke on the first hole, but I just drilled 40 holes with no problems with the drill from Amazon.

    Question & Answers

    Q:

    What drill is needed?

    A:

You don't need heavy duty or oversized equipment to use a standard battery powered drill.

    Q:

I got the two yellow tools that come with it, but I don't know what they are.

    A:

They can be used for placing seed into beds, pots or both. The round one is called a dibbler. You make small holes by hand for seed. The other one like a scoop is for holding the seed.

    Q:

Which place is this product made at?

    A:

The one I received was made in China.

    Q:

I mean the end that goes into the ground, what's the hole at the end of the auger?

    A:

My guess is that it is the powder coating process during manufacturing, although mine doesn't have that hole.

    Q:

Will this work in hard Arizona/ Phoenix ground?

    A:

It worked well on Texas granite soil, so it might help to water the area before.
