I discovered that laying down the dots in a strip on the surface before peeling off the backing works best for them to lay in place and stick on whatever they need to be placed on.
I faced difficulty while using the dots to attach small erasers to bags of popcorn. I had to try different methods and ultimately I was able to make it work. It may be the same with balloons, where you need to stick the balloon directly to the dot first.
The tape looks nice, but it tears easily and lacks adhesion. It seems to want to come off on its own, especially on surfaces that are not perfect smooth. The only upside is that the adhesive is weak enough that it leaves nothing behind.
I have been using the tape to hold up a fabric tapestry on a brick wall for a month now, and it has shown great adhesive strength despite the hot and cold temperatures.
