  • Question & Answers

    Q:

How do you rate its accuracy on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most accurate?

    A:

I have used it a few times in the last two years and it has been off by 10 psi, but I am not sure how good it really is.

    Q:

How does this thing attach to the tire of a car? There is a tread on the tire that looks like it screws in, not the black latch that this has.

    A:

Press firmly on the valve on your tire to seal off the escaping air, then move the latch to the down position. You then squeeze down the lever on the gauge part to add air to the tire until the gauge reads the correct amount.

    Q:

What is the size of the hose that goes into the main unit if I need to replace it?

    A:

It's fairly common for these tire inflators, about as common as 3/8 X 5.

    Q:

What is the size of the dial?

    A:

The dial is 3 inches long.

    Q:

I tightened the valve with a wrench, but it still leaks. Does it need a thread seal or tape?

    A:

It would be logical to apply a product like Teflon tape or paste that prevents leaks at threaded connections.
