After filling all 8 tires, the unit was slightly warm to the touch but not hot and there was no smell.
The air-compressor-inflator has an auto-shutoff feature at the desired pressure level.
After running for only 10 seconds, the compressor shut off due to overheating and barely raised the pressure by 5psi.
The instruction manual is incorrect. The air compressor does not have an automatic shut-off and I have to turn it off manually using the psi button hold. There is no timeout.
