I ordered these 4-plys because I didn't want to buy tubes for the old 2-ply stock tires, they were dry-rotted and I didn't want to spend a fortune on them.
Since these will take 30psi, I figured they would also stabilizer the cutting height and prevent the scalping problems as well, since I fashioned a home-madechanger in my big vise and got the old tires off.
The tire came with a mowing tractor, but the hole was too large.
I keep about 25 psi in them, and they don't cut my grass when I make sharp turns, but they seem just a little bit narrower, and I hope they last.
If you want to mount the tire to the original rim, the 4 ply tire is worth the money, but only if you think you can do it.
Question & Answers
Correct, these are for the front of the tractor?
Depending on the mower you have, they fit a 6 inch wheel.
Is there a taller tire on a 6" rim?
We don't have the 17x6 or 18x6 ones.
Does this tire need a tube or is it tubeless?
They were tubeless for me.
Are these tires square shoulder tires?
I have never heard of a square shoulder tire, but taking a guess at what you mean, I would say yes.
Where do the tires come from?
I bought the tires for a lawn mower that I was fixing up to sell and they worked great for me, I'm not sure where the tires were made.
