About Diamond Polishing Compound, 5 Piece Lapping Paste
Overall Feedback:
90% positive
89% liked its abrasion-resistant properties
I have found this diamond compound to be a game changer. Now, I am able to polish my stones to a glossy finish.
88% praised for its compatibility with a range of materials, while 12% experienced issues with metal.
I have been struggling to find the right material to polish my soapstone pieces to a high sheen. I have tried paste waxes, high-grit buffing pads, and compound sticks with mixed results. But, this diamond compound has been a game changer and I am finally able to polish my stones to a glossy finish.
I tested out the higher grit pastes starting with 12,000 grit and then moved on to 40,000 grit to maintain the brushed metal look.
I am dissatisfied with the product and will keep searching for better compounds. I doubt its compatibility with glass as it is just below the scale of hardness.
I had to return the product as it did not match the description.
98% liked the ease of application
I recommend the polishing compound for similar projects.
I suggest using a toothbrush to get into all the little ridges of the ring or necklace while using the product.
I find the diamond paste easy to use for carving and polishing rocks. However, the rocks become too slick to hold onto after polishing.
93% praised for its exceptional grinding performance, while 7% found it slow.
After polishing the rocks, I can barely hold onto them because they get so slick.
I started with the 12,000 grit to be safe and was amazed at how quickly it cleaned my ring.
I found that using both 12,000 grit and 40,000 grit pastes together creates the desired mirror finish.
I had to return the product as it did not perform as described.
83% appreciated the minimal residue level
I achieved the desired mirror finish by using both 12,000 grit and 40,000 grit pastes together.
91% liked the high-quality surface finish, but 9% experienced scratching.
I found that using both the 12,000 grit and 40,000 grit pastes together created the desired mirror finish.
I find the diamond paste fabulous as it provides a good surface finish.
I am dissatisfied with the product and will keep searching for better compounds. I doubt the authenticity of the product's claim of being diamond and think it might be zirconia instead.

Using 6,000, 12,000, and 20,000 grits was enough for me to remove moderate scratches.
