I prefer the box packaging of AmazonBasics AAA Cell battery over the blister packs used by big brand name products, which are hard to open and cause all batteries to roll out.
I have never experienced any leakage issue with these batteries even after leaving them for long periods of time.
If you have multiple battery cases loaded with batteries, they may short out with other metal objects in your backpack. But if you store them on a shelf, they are fine.
I have a negative feedback about the packaging of the batteries. It would be better to put them in something else.

In the original packaging, AAA batteries stored in a garage in Texas started to leak.
I have experienced leakage issues with the batteries. Out of 36 batteries, I have had at least 3-4 leak, maybe as many as half a dozen-ish, which is a significant number. I have to isolate the leaking battery, wipe all the others off, clean the package, and put them back in.
The batteries start leaking while still powering up my devices, ruining many remotes and other devices.
Approximately 15 batteries leaked badly within a year.
