  • What users have to say about Marcy Smith Cage Machine with Workout Bench and Weight Bar Home Gym Equipment

It is worth the price you pay for it if you are looking for a good way to work out without a spotter or if you just want to work out alone.

This is a very large device, and it needs at least an 8 by 8 area to put a 45 pound weight plate on the back part and put plates on the bar.

If you are short, it is difficult to reach the pull-up bar, and you may need a stool to change out the handles.

The built in press bar is vertical, not an angle, because I know enough physics to understand that gravity is a vertical force.

I'm 6'3" and I can do all of the exercises that come with that size of body. I can even do forced reps on my pullups by using the smith bar to step on while getting extra pullups in.

    FAQ

    Q:

What is the width of the bar on the smith machine?

    A:

The bar catches have a measurement between them of 47".

    Q:

Is the combo smith machine with an olympioc bar that weighs 45 lbs?

    A:

The standard Olympic bar is 20 pounds lighter than the Smith machine bar, so you should adjust your routine to account for that.

    Q:

Does it fit under a garage door?

    A:

The machine is 22 inches high at it's highest point.

    Q:

Is the bar set to allow plates with 1" holes or is it only set to allow traditional olympic weight add ons?

    A:

If you remove the Olympic sleeves, you can use 1 inch plates.

    Q:

I want to use the bench first, but I don't know which box is on it.

    A:

    There are three boxes.
