I was amazed at how much they expanded after I did one Tablespoon of them per gallon of water, they look like dry vs expanded, but my 17 month old is fascinated by them.

The best thing about this toy is that when you are done playing with it, they shrink so that you can't carry it with you, and they are easy to pick up even if you don't have water with you.

I have never used water beads before, but 2 1/2 grams made 2 1/2 gallons worth, no joke, and that was barely scratching the surface of the package.

I got these from a 3rd party review site and they seem fine, I use distilled water and the kids seem to have a lot of fun with them.

I forgot to fill them and they were big the next day, so my son played with them and they were so big he could pick up and run his hands through them.

    Question & Answers

    Q:

Is it possible to reuse the same water multiple times?

    A:

It generally takes 10 to 12 days for the beads to fully dehydrate, and we have successfully completed hydrating, dehydrating, then re-hydrating 5 times.

    Q:

    How long do they last?

    A:

It takes about 2 weeks for them to return to their original size, based on our testing.

    Q:

Do the beads have latex in them?

    A:

Thank you for your question, these beads do not contain latex.

    Q:

Is it necessary to use distilled water?

    A:

Distilled water is not required, but based on our testing it seems to give the water beads their most durable state, and help them last the longest without breaking apart.

    Q:

Do you store the beads with water or not?

    A:

If you allow the beads to soak in water, they will continue to grow and keep their hydrated size.
