I leave it on for 24 hours a day without issues with heat, and still on the first bulb after several weeks of being constantly on, inside the nether regions under the bottom of a frequently used microwave, and above a very frequently used stove top.
The bulbs work on all levels, but are not sure how long they will last. They come in a package of eight so they are worth the investment and they give off great light.
I used the specifications I found to get the lights I needed in a 6 pack for under $10 at the local Home Depot.
The store brand for appliances is not as good as the appliance brand because of the price, but the appliance brand works with most appliances, and the original bulb in my microwave was 30 watt, so I think these are better than the store brand.
The bulbs were all in good condition, and the tungsten wire was connected on all of the ones I wasn't using.

The T7 light bulbs are 25 watt, but not as bright as the T8 light bulbs I used over the stove.
